Import trades from Upstox

Upstox exports a tradebook per segment and reaches three financial years. Its automatic sync is not switched on, and its tokens expire daily anyway.

Same on every platform Updated

What this does

Brings Upstox trades into VEXA from the trade report.

Before you start

  • Automatic sync shows a Coming soon banner. File import is the route today.
  • Upstox tokens expire daily, so even when the sync is switched on it will need frequent reauthorisation unless you ask Upstox for an extended read-only token.
  • Upstox exports one report per segment. Export each segment you trade.
  • Up to three financial years of history.
  • Times are IST, with no daylight saving.

Steps

Same on every platform

  1. Sign in on the Upstox website, or open the Upstox Pro app.
  2. Go to Reports, then the trade report or tradebook.
  3. Choose a segment: Equity for NSE and BSE, F&O, Commodity for MCX, or Currency.
  4. Set the date range, up to three financial years.
  5. Download as CSV.
  6. Upload it to VEXA.
  7. Go back to step 3 and repeat for every other segment you trade.

The per-segment trap

Same as every Indian broker. Upload only the equity report and your derivatives are missing, with no error to warn you. If your totals are a long way from what Upstox shows, check the segments first. See Some of my trades are missing.

Charts are blank on Indian symbols

VEXA has no market data provider for NSE, BSE or MCX. Your trades and every figure derived from them are correct; the price chart on a trade’s analysis page has nothing to draw.

What you should see

A result panel naming the Upstox tradebook format, once per segment file, with counts that reconcile against your Upstox reports.

If it doesn’t work

  • Half your trades are missing. A segment has not been uploaded.
  • “No trades were found in this file.” You exported an Excel workbook rather than CSV, or a range with no trades in it.
  • The trade chart is empty. Expected on Indian symbols.
