Connect PropReports
PropReports is the back office most prop firms run on. VEXA signs in with your firm credentials and syncs, or reads the Detailed report you export.
What this does
PropReports is the reporting back office that many proprietary trading firms give their traders. If your firm’s reports live at an address like yourfirm.propreports.com, this is your integration, whatever the firm is called.
Before you start
- VEXA signs in with your PropReports username and password. The password is encrypted before it is stored and nobody at VEXA can read it. It is the only broker in VEXA that works this way, because PropReports offers no key-based access.
- Change your password at your firm and the sync stops until you update it in VEXA.
- There is no schedule. PropReports accounts sync when you ask them to, not on a timer.
- Your firm is probably in the dropdown. Black Eagle FG, CMEG, CMEG Kentucky, CenterPoint Securities, Chimera Trading, Great Point Capital, Integratrade, Obliix Global, Ocean One Securities, Seven Point Capital, T3 Trading, Vector Securities, Venom Trading, Vision Clearing, Vortex Capital and Zimtra are all listed, and there is an option for anything else.
Set up the sync
Same on every platform
- In VEXA, open the PropReports page.
- Pick your firm from the dropdown. VEXA fills in the right address. If yours is not listed, choose the custom option and type the subdomain from your reports URL.
- Enter your PropReports username, the same one you use at
yourfirm.propreports.com. - Enter your PropReports password.
- Choose Connect to PropReports. Verification takes five to fifteen seconds.
- Use the sync control on the account row whenever you want fresh data.
Steps
Same on every platform
Export the Detailed report instead
- Sign in at
yourfirm.propreports.com. - Open the Reports tab.
- In the report dropdown, choose Detailed. That is the one with the fill-level breakdown.
- Set the date range and generate the report.
- Choose Export to Excel at the top right of the table.
- Open the downloaded file in a spreadsheet app and save it as CSV. VEXA does not read Excel workbooks.
- Upload the CSV to VEXA.
Why the profit figures are exact
PropReports rounds the price column to two decimals in its export while its own web interface shows four. Reconstructing profit from those rounded prices would drift by fractions of a cent per fill, which adds up across a scalping day.
So when every fill in the file carries a net cash amount, VEXA uses that instead of recalculating from price. Your profit matches your firm’s numbers rather than approximating them.
ECN rebates are handled the same way: a negative fee reduces your cost rather than being added to it as though it were a charge.
Limits and gotchas
- There is no direct CSV export. The Excel to CSV conversion is a required step and it is the main annoyance of this integration.
- The Detailed report is sectioned, with date rows, symbol rows and summary rows between the data. That is expected and VEXA reads it correctly. Do not tidy it up before uploading.
- Take Detailed, not Summary. A summary report has no fills in it.
- If your figures do not reconcile with your firm’s, re-import the period. Re-importing never duplicates.
What you should see
After connecting, the account appears with an Active badge. Sync it and the last-sync time updates. Nothing runs on its own afterwards, so sync it when you want fresh numbers.
After an upload, a result panel naming the PropReports format, with a count that matches the round trips in the report.
If it doesn’t work
- The connection was rejected. Check the username against the one you use on your firm’s site, and check the subdomain if you typed it by hand.
- It worked and then stopped. You changed your PropReports password. Update it in VEXA. See Reconnect a broker.
- The upload was refused. The file is still an Excel workbook. Save it as CSV.
- Fewer trades than expected. You exported the Summary report rather than Detailed.
