Connect Robinhood or import its activity report

Connect Robinhood through SnapTrade with your own login for daily read-only automatic sync, or request an activity report and upload it.

What this does

Brings Robinhood trades into VEXA in one of two ways.

Automatic sync connects your Robinhood account through SnapTrade, VEXA’s connection partner. Robinhood offers no public API to third parties, so SnapTrade signs in with your own Robinhood login, read-only, and VEXA imports your fills every day. VEXA never sees your password and cannot place, change or cancel orders. Automatic sync is a Pro feature.

File import takes the activity report Robinhood generates on request. It works on every account and it is the only route for history the connection does not return.

Automatic sync

Same on every platform

  1. In VEXA, open Profile, then Connected brokers, and choose Robinhood.
  2. Open the Automatic sync tab and choose Connect with Robinhood.
  3. SnapTrade opens Robinhood’s own sign-in page. Enter your login and complete the verification Robinhood asks for.
  4. Approve the read-only connection and choose the accounts to link.
  5. Return to VEXA. On a phone or tablet, switch back to the app when the portal finishes. If the accounts have not appeared, choose I’ve connected.
  6. The first sync starts on its own. Compare one imported trade with Robinhood before relying on a long history.

The sync brings in stocks, ETFs, options and the crypto Robinhood reports through the connection, with the fees Robinhood shows. New trades appear the day after they settle, and Sync Now refreshes on demand. If Robinhood asks you to sign in again, VEXA shows Reconnect Robinhood.

Import an activity report

  • Use a desktop browser. Activity reports are not available in the Robinhood mobile app.
  • Robinhood takes between 2 and 24 hours to generate a report and emails you when it is ready. That wait is Robinhood’s, and nothing on VEXA’s side changes it. Request it before you need it.
  • The activity report covers stocks and options together. Option fills appear as BTO, STC, STO and BTC rows with the contract in the description, and VEXA imports them as options (contracts × 100). The separate options history export is also accepted. Crypto is the only product missing.
  • Crypto is not supported from Robinhood exports. Stocks, ETFs and options only. Crypto comes in through automatic sync.
  • One year of history per report.

Same on every platform

  1. Open robinhood.com in a desktop browser and sign in.
  2. Open the account menu and go to Reports & Statements, or Settings then Documents.
  3. Open Activity Reports.
  4. Choose the report type: Stocks & ETFs, or Options.
  5. Set the date range, up to one year.
  6. Click Generate Report.
  7. Wait. Robinhood emails you when it is ready, usually within a day.
  8. Return to Activity Reports and download the file.
  9. Upload it to VEXA.
  10. Repeat from step 4 for the other report type if you trade both.

Limits and gotchas

  • The report wait is the whole file experience. There is no faster path and no way to poll it.
  • A year at a time for files. For longer history, request consecutive years and upload them all. Overlap is discarded.
  • Crypto rows in a file are ignored rather than rejected. A crypto-heavy account imports fewer trades from a file than you expect.
  • Robinhood times are Eastern.
  • A file that overlaps what the connection already imported is recognised, not duplicated.

What you should see

A connected Robinhood account with a last-sync time, or a result panel naming a Robinhood format after a file upload. Upload the stocks report and only stock and ETF trades appear; upload the options report and your options trades join them. Counts should roughly match the number of round trips you made, not the number of rows in the file.

If it doesn’t work

  • “Automatic sync is a Pro feature.” The account you are signed in with is not on Pro. Upgrade, or upload a report.
  • “Automatic sync for this broker isn’t switched on yet.” The connection is not live on VEXA’s side yet. File import works in the meantime.
  • VEXA asks you to reconnect. Robinhood wants a fresh sign-in. Choose Reconnect Robinhood and sign in once.
  • The report never arrived. Check the email address on your Robinhood account, and check spam. Regenerating starts the clock again.
  • Only some of your trades appeared from a file. You traded crypto, or the date range was short. See Some of my trades are missing.
  • You are trying to request the report on your phone. Robinhood does not offer activity reports in its app. Use a computer.
