Import trades from Robinhood

Robinhood has no public API, generates reports on its own schedule, and splits stocks from options. Here is what to request and how long it takes.

What this does

Brings Robinhood trades into VEXA from an activity report. Robinhood offers no public API to any third party, so a file is the only route and always will be.

Before you start

  • Use a desktop browser. Activity reports are not available in the Robinhood mobile app.
  • Robinhood takes between 2 and 24 hours to generate a report and emails you when it is ready. That wait is Robinhood’s, and nothing on VEXA’s side changes it. Request it before you need it.
  • Stocks and options are separate reports. If you trade both, request both. One file will import cleanly and quietly leave out half your trading.
  • Crypto is not supported from Robinhood exports. Stocks, ETFs and options only.
  • One year of history per report.

Steps

Same on every platform

  1. Open robinhood.com in a desktop browser and sign in.
  2. Open the account menu and go to Reports & Statements, or Settings then Documents.
  3. Open Activity Reports.
  4. Choose the report type: Stocks & ETFs, or Options.
  5. Set the date range, up to one year.
  6. Click Generate Report.
  7. Wait. Robinhood emails you when it is ready, usually within a day.
  8. Return to Activity Reports and download the file.
  9. Upload it to VEXA.
  10. Repeat from step 4 for the other report type if you trade both.

Limits and gotchas

  • The wait is the whole experience. There is no faster path and no way to poll it.
  • A year at a time. For longer history, request consecutive years and upload them all. Overlap is discarded.
  • Crypto rows are ignored rather than rejected. A crypto-heavy account will import fewer trades than you expect and nothing will say why.
  • Robinhood times are Eastern.

What you should see

A result panel naming a Robinhood format. Upload the stocks report and only stock and ETF trades appear; upload the options report and your options trades join them. Counts should roughly match the number of round trips you made, not the number of rows in the file.

If it doesn’t work

  • The report never arrived. Check the email address on your Robinhood account, and check spam. Regenerating starts the clock again.
  • Only some of your trades appeared. You uploaded one of the two report types, or you traded crypto. See Some of my trades are missing.
  • You are trying to do this on your phone. Robinhood does not offer activity reports in its app. Use a computer.
