The account filter

How the account selector changes every number in VEXA, why trades seem to vanish when you switch it, and where it lives on each device.

What this does

Decides which broker accounts feed everything you are looking at. Dashboard, Journal, Metrics, Trades, Portfolio and your scores all respect it.

Before you start

  • The filter is remembered. It survives a reload and follows you to your other devices, so a filter you set on Monday is still on when you open the app on Thursday and wonder where your trades went.
  • On Android phone, set the filter from another device. Your choice is stored against your VEXA account, so a filter you set on the web or a tablet applies on your phone as well.

Steps

  1. In the sidebar, below the navigation list and above your profile card, open the account selector.
  2. Choose one account, or choose all of them.
  1. Open the account selector sheet, headed Filter by Account.
  2. Choose one account, or choose all of them.
  1. In the sidebar, below the navigation list, open the account row.

Why your trades “disappeared”

This is the most common false alarm in VEXA, and it has two causes.

You are filtered to one account. Trades from the others are excluded from every screen, including the score. Set the filter back to all accounts before concluding anything is missing.

Your trades are not attached to any account. Then they appear only when the filter is set to all accounts, and vanish under every specific account. That is not a filter problem, it is a broken account association, and it is fixable. See My trades only show under All Accounts.

The two look identical from the outside. The way to tell them apart is to set the filter to each account in turn: if the trades appear under none of them but do appear under all, it is the second cause.

After an import

VEXA selects the account you imported into. That is deliberate. An import that landed in a new account while your filter pointed at an old one would look exactly like an import that failed.

After deleting an account

Deleting an account with the keep-trades option leaves its trades in place but unlinked from any broker account. They stay visible under all accounts. If you want them attached to something, re-import them into the account you want them in.

What you should see

Switch to one account and every total drops to that account’s share of it. Switch back to all accounts and the numbers return. The switch is immediate; nothing needs to reload.

If it doesn’t work

  • The filter lists an account you deleted. Reload. The list is cached locally and the server view is the one that counts.
  • The numbers did not change when you switched. You have one account, or all your trades are in the one you selected.
  • Your scores look wrong after filtering. Scores are computed on the filtered set, so a filter set to a small account gives you that account’s score, not your overall one.
