Connect Kraken or import its trade history

Connect Kraken spot through SnapTrade with your own login for daily read-only automatic sync, or upload the Spot trades or Kraken Futures account log CSV.

What this does

Brings Kraken trades into VEXA in one of two ways.

Automatic sync connects your Kraken spot account through SnapTrade, VEXA’s connection partner. You sign in with your Kraken login inside SnapTrade’s portal, VEXA never sees your password or API keys, and the access is read-only, so VEXA cannot place, change or cancel orders. Automatic sync is a Pro feature and covers Kraken spot.

File import takes two CSV exports: Spot trades and the Kraken Futures account log. It works on every account, and it is the route for Kraken Futures.

Automatic sync

Same on every platform

  1. In VEXA, open Profile, then Connected brokers, and choose Kraken.
  2. Open the Automatic sync tab and choose Connect with Kraken.
  3. SnapTrade opens Kraken’s own sign-in page. Enter your login and complete any verification Kraken asks for.
  4. Approve the read-only connection and choose the accounts to link.
  5. Return to VEXA. On a phone or tablet, switch back to the app when the portal finishes. If the accounts have not appeared, choose I’ve connected.
  6. The first sync starts on its own. Compare one imported trade with Kraken before relying on a long history.

The sync brings in spot crypto fills with the fees Kraken reports. New trades appear the day after they settle, and Sync Now refreshes on demand. If Kraken asks you to sign in again, VEXA shows Reconnect Kraken.

Import a file

  • Spot and Futures use different exports. Spot uses the Trades history CSV; Futures uses the Account log CSV.
  • Upload the original .csv file. The Ledger and Spot orders exports have different columns and cannot be imported as trades.
  • Both exports are in UTC. There is no timezone to choose or set.
  • Overlapping periods are safe. Fees are imported from the file, and duplicate executions are skipped when an export overlaps one you already uploaded or synced.

Kraken Futures account log

Same on every platform

  1. In Kraken Futures, open History → Account log.
  2. Choose the period you want to import.
  3. Click Export (CSV). The file is named account_log_…csv.
  4. In VEXA, choose Kraken → Manual upload and upload it. Only futures trades are imported; funding, conversions and transfers are ignored.

Kraken Spot trades

Same on every platform

  1. In Kraken Pro, open History → Trades (or Documents → Export).
  2. Choose the period and export Trades as CSV (trades.csv / kraken-spot-trades-…csv).
  3. In VEXA, choose Kraken → Manual upload and upload it.

What is imported

The connection and the Spot trades CSV both import buy and sell fills for Kraken spot pairs. The Futures account log imports only rows that are futures trades; funding, conversions and transfers are ignored.

Fees are imported in every case. Re-uploading an overlapping export is safe because duplicate executions are skipped.

Troubleshooting

  • “Automatic sync is a Pro feature.” The account you are signed in with is not on Pro. Upgrade, or upload a file.
  • “Automatic sync for this broker isn’t switched on yet.” The connection is not live on VEXA’s side yet. File import works in the meantime.
  • VEXA asks you to reconnect. Kraken wants a fresh sign-in. Choose Reconnect Kraken and sign in once.
  • Your futures trades did not sync. Automatic sync covers Kraken spot. Export the Futures account log and upload it.
  • “Unable to detect CSV format.” You exported the Ledger or the Spot orders page, not Trades. Return to History → Trades (or Documents → Export), export Trades as CSV and upload the original file unchanged.
  • “No valid executions.” The selected period contains no futures trades or contains only funding rows. Choose a period that includes futures trades and export the Account log again.
  • You uploaded the file under Binance. Pick Kraken in VEXA and upload the file there.
