When VEXA syncs your trades automatically
How often each connected broker is pulled, why there is no auto-sync indicator anywhere in the app, and how to tell whether yours is running.
What this does
Tells you how often a connected broker is pulled without you asking. Brokers that never pull on their own are listed too, so you can tell which is which. For those, and for every broker not in the table, nothing runs on a schedule: you sync by hand or import a file when you want to update.
The schedule
| Broker | How often VEXA pulls |
|---|---|
| Interactive Brokers | Never on its own. Sync it by hand. |
| Bybit | Every hour |
| Coinbase | Every 6 hours |
| Trading 212 | Every 6 hours |
| Binance | Once a day, 02:00 UTC |
| Tiger Brokers | Once a day, 06:00 |
| PropReports | Never on its own. Sync it by hand. |
| MetaTrader 4 | Your terminal pushes every 60 seconds |
| MetaTrader 5 | Your terminal pushes as each trade closes |
MetaTrader is the exception in both directions. It is the fastest of the lot when the terminal is running, and it stops entirely when the terminal is closed. Trades closed while it was off arrive the next time you open it.
Sync by hand any time
Every connected account can be pulled on demand, and there is a sixty second cooldown per account so a repeated tap does nothing. The control is a refresh icon on the account’s row, and on iPhone and Android there is also a Sync Trades button on Home that pulls everything at once.
The control is hidden for MetaTrader accounts, deliberately. There is nothing for VEXA to pull; the Expert Advisor pushes.
There is no “auto-sync is on” indicator
This catches people. Nothing in the app says a schedule is running for your account. The only evidence is the last-sync time on the account row, and it is the thing to check when you suspect the sync has stopped.
Check the table above first, because the test only works for a broker that pulls on a schedule. For one of those, a time that keeps moving without you touching anything means the schedule is running, and a time that is stuck at the moment you connected means the first scheduled pull has not happened yet, or the connection has broken. On Interactive Brokers and PropReports the time only ever moves when you sync by hand, so a stuck time means nothing more than that you have not pressed Sync. Look for the Needs Reauth badge, then see Reconnect a broker.
Brokers whose sync is not live yet
Several brokers in the picker have their schedule written and waiting behind a connection that is not switched on. Their sync tab shows a banner saying so. Until it is switched on, file import is the route, and it reaches further back than the API would.
What you should see
For a broker that VEXA pulls on a schedule: a last-sync time that advances on its own, and new closed trades appearing without you doing anything. Nothing notifies you when a sync runs.
If it doesn’t work
- The last-sync time has not moved for days. Check for the reauth badge, then sync by hand and read the error.
- Old trades are still missing after several syncs. Every API has a history window and most of them are short. A scheduled sync will never backfill beyond it. Upload a file for the older period.
- You tapped sync and nothing happened. You are inside the sixty second cooldown, or that account imports from files only. See Sync Trades did nothing.
