Import trades from Lightspeed

Lightspeed exports a Blotter from its website, one year at a time, with all the exchange and clearing fees included.

What this does

Brings Lightspeed trades into VEXA from the Blotter report.

Before you start

  • Automatic sync shows a Coming soon banner. File import is the route today.
  • One year per export. Several years of history means several files, and uploading them all is safe because overlap is discarded.
  • Times are Eastern.
  • Options use the extended contract format and are read automatically.

Steps

Same on every platform

  1. Sign in to the Lightspeed Trading website.
  2. Go to Reports, then Account List.
  3. Click your account number.
  4. Open the Blotter.
  5. Set the date range, up to one year.
  6. Click the CSV button to download.
  7. Upload it to VEXA.
  8. Repeat for each earlier year.

Fees

The Blotter carries exchange, SEC and clearing fees alongside the commission, and VEXA reads all of them. Your profit figures are net, so they should reconcile with your statement rather than sitting slightly above it.

Limits and gotchas

  • The Blotter is per account. If you trade more than one Lightspeed account, export each one and give each its own account name in VEXA.
  • A year at a time is a hard cap at Lightspeed’s end.
  • If your figures do not reconcile, re-import the affected period. Re-importing never duplicates.

What you should see

A result panel naming the Lightspeed blotter format, with counts. On the second and later files, expect trades reported as already in your account where the years overlap.

If it doesn’t work

  • “No trades were found in this file.” You exported a statement or an account summary rather than the Blotter.
  • Only part of your history arrived. Each export is capped at a year. Go back for the earlier ones.
  • Trades from two accounts merged into one. Name the account on the upload screen so each file lands where you want it.
