Connect tastytrade

Connect tastytrade to VEXA through SnapTrade with your own tastytrade login, read-only, and VEXA syncs your stocks, ETFs and options every day. Automatic sync is a Pro feature.

What this does

Connects your tastytrade account to VEXA and keeps it up to date on its own. tastytrade is a US broker with no file import in VEXA, so the connection is the route in.

The connection runs through SnapTrade, VEXA’s connection partner. You sign in with tastytrade inside SnapTrade’s portal, VEXA never sees your password, and the access is read-only: VEXA cannot place, change or cancel orders. Automatic sync is a Pro feature.

Before you start

  • Have your tastytrade login to hand, and the phone or device tastytrade uses for verification. The sign-in happens with tastytrade, not with VEXA.
  • The link SnapTrade opens is valid for five minutes. If you leave it open longer, start again from VEXA.
  • On a free account the Connect with tastytrade button explains that automatic sync needs Pro. Nothing else on the broker page changes.

Steps

Same on every platform

  1. In VEXA, open Profile, then Connected brokers, and choose tastytrade.
  2. Open the Automatic sync tab and choose Connect with tastytrade.
  3. SnapTrade opens tastytrade’s own sign-in page. Enter your tastytrade login and complete any verification tastytrade asks for.
  4. Approve the read-only connection and choose the accounts you want to link.
  5. Return to VEXA. On a phone or tablet, switch back to the app when the portal finishes. If the accounts have not appeared, choose I’ve connected.
  6. The first sync starts on its own. Compare one imported trade with tastytrade before relying on a long history.

What syncs

  • Stocks, ETFs and options. Every fill, with the commissions and fees tastytrade reports.
  • Each linked account is its own account in VEXA, named after tastytrade and the last digits of the account number, so the account filter keeps them apart.
  • Every day. New trades appear the day after they settle at tastytrade. Choose Sync Now for an on-demand refresh.
  • History. The first sync brings in everything tastytrade exposes through the connection. Anything already in your journal is recognised, not duplicated.

Reconnecting and disconnecting

If tastytrade asks you to sign in again, for example after a password change, VEXA marks the account as needing a reconnect. Choose Reconnect tastytrade, sign in once, and the sync resumes. Your trades are not affected.

To stop syncing, choose Disconnect tastytrade on the broker page. The connection is removed at SnapTrade and the trades already imported stay in your journal.

What you should see

One connected account per tastytrade account you approved, each with a last-sync time. The first sync usually finishes within a few minutes, and the trades appear under that account in the account filter.

If it doesn’t work

  • “Automatic sync is a Pro feature.” The account you are signed in with is not on Pro. Upgrade, then choose Connect with tastytrade again.
  • “Automatic sync for this broker isn’t switched on yet.” The connection is not live on VEXA’s side yet. The button stays where it is, so check back shortly.
  • The portal says the link has expired. SnapTrade links last five minutes. Return to VEXA and choose Connect with tastytrade again.
  • No accounts appeared after you signed in. Choose I’ve connected on the broker page. If nothing appears, you approved no accounts in the portal; connect again and tick at least one.
  • Trades from today are missing. That is expected. tastytrade reports fills the day after they settle, and the daily sync picks them up then.
