Import trades from DEGIRO

DEGIRO has no public API, so VEXA reads the Account Statement or the Transactions export, in any of six languages.

What this does

Brings DEGIRO trades into VEXA from a file. DEGIRO offers no public API to third parties, so a file is the only route.

Before you start

  • Two exports work and VEXA accepts either: the Account Statement, and Transactions. If one gives you a thin import, try the other.
  • DEGIRO keeps up to five years of history.
  • Export as CSV, not PDF. The PDF statement is the one DEGIRO offers first and VEXA cannot read it.
  • Times are Amsterdam time.

Steps

Same on every platform

  1. Sign in at degiro.com.
  2. Go to Activity, then Reports. Some accounts have it under Inbox instead.
  3. Choose Account Statement or Transactions.
  4. Set the date range, up to five years.
  5. Export as CSV.
  6. Upload it to VEXA.

Language and delimiter

You do not have to switch DEGIRO to English first. VEXA reads the export in English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish and Italian.

European CSV files are often semicolon-separated rather than comma-separated. VEXA detects which one your file uses, so a semicolon export imports normally.

Limits and gotchas

  • Currency conversion is handled for you. DEGIRO reports in the account currency and VEXA follows it.
  • Options are supported. Older imports predating options support may need re-importing; re-importing never duplicates.
  • The Account Statement carries cash movements as well as trades, so the row count will be much higher than the trades imported. That is expected.

What you should see

A result panel naming a DEGIRO format, with a count of closed trades. The gap between rows processed and executions kept is normally large on the Account Statement and small on Transactions.

If it doesn’t work

  • “No trades were found in this file.” You exported the PDF, or a cash-only period.
  • Fewer trades than expected. Try the other export type, then widen the date range.
  • The file is semicolon-separated and you are tempted to fix it. Do not. Upload it as DEGIRO produced it.
