Import trades from Questrade
Export the Orders report from Questrade and upload the CSV to bring your executed stocks, ETFs and options into VEXA.
On this page
What this does
Imports executed Questrade orders into VEXA from the broker’s Orders CSV export.
Before you start
- Use the Orders export, not an account summary or positions report.
- Set the date range deliberately before exporting.
- Keep the CSV unchanged. Renaming the file is fine, but do not delete or rename its columns.
- Questrade timestamps are interpreted in Toronto time, including daylight-saving changes.
Steps
Same on every platform
- Sign in to the Questrade web platform.
- Open Accounts, then Activity.
- Choose Orders and set the date range you want to import.
- Export the report as CSV.
- In VEXA, open broker connections, choose Questrade, and upload the CSV.
- Review the import result before continuing with additional files.
What VEXA imports
VEXA reads executed stocks and ETFs, Questrade’s reported fees, and the executed portion of partially filled orders. Cancelled or rejected orders with no fill are ignored.
Options are supported when the export contains enough contract information to identify the expiry, strike and call or put. If those facts are incomplete, VEXA rejects the ambiguous row instead of inventing a contract.
What you should see
The result panel should identify the file as Questrade Orders and show the accepted and skipped row counts. Open one imported trade and compare its quantity, execution price, time and fees with Questrade before importing a large history.
If it doesn’t work
- The format is not recognized. Export the Orders report from Accounts → Activity and upload the original CSV.
- No trades were imported. Check that the selected range contains executed or partially filled orders, not only open, cancelled or rejected orders.
- An option row was rejected. The export did not contain a complete, unambiguous contract description.
- A trade appears on the wrong day. Confirm that the export came from the Questrade web platform and that its timestamps were not edited in a spreadsheet.
