Why was I charged immediately instead of getting a trial?
Three reasons a checkout charges you on day one, and how to tell which one applies to you.
What this does
You expected 14 free days and your card was charged today. There are three reasons this happens, and all three are working as designed.
Reason 1: you have subscribed to VEXA before
On the web, the free trial is once per customer, permanently.
If you have ever held a VEXA subscription on the web, a new checkout charges you immediately. It does not matter how long ago it was, how short it was, or whether you cancelled during that first trial. Once you have had one, there is no second.
This is the most common cause and the least visible one. Nothing on the checkout page announces it before you pay.
How to tell: you recognise VEXA from before, or you find an older VEXA receipt in your email.
Reason 2: you chose an annual plan
Annual plans have no trial, on any platform. They are charged in full on the day you buy them: $349.99 for Edge, $479.99 for Pro.
That is deliberate. A forgotten trial on an annual plan turns into a large surprise charge, so VEXA does not offer one.
How to tell: your receipt shows the annual price, and the cadence toggle was set to Annual at checkout.
If you want to try VEXA first, start on monthly. You can switch to annual later, and the trial reminder email offers exactly that switch.
Reason 3: you upgraded rather than started fresh
Moving from Edge to Pro, or from monthly to annual, is a change to an existing subscription. It is charged immediately and prorated against what you have already paid. It does not open a new trial.
How to tell: you already had a VEXA plan before this charge.
Steps
Web only
- Open Profile from the sidebar card at the bottom.
- Find the Subscription card and tap the plan row.
- Read the cadence next to your plan name. If it says Annual, that is reason 2.
- Search your email for older VEXA receipts. If you find one, that is reason 1.
- If neither applies, email support@vexatrade.ai with the date and amount of the charge.
What you should see
Profile > Subscription shows an Active badge and “Renews {date}” rather than a Trial badge. Your plan is live from now.
Can you get it refunded?
VEXA subscriptions are non-refundable once charged, and the free trial is the evaluation window. The policy is at vexatrade.ai/refund-policy and it keeps a narrow discretionary exception for rare cases. See Refunds.
If you believe the charge is genuinely wrong, for example you have never subscribed to VEXA before and were charged anyway, email support@vexatrade.ai from the address on the account with the charge date and amount.
If it doesn’t work
- You are certain you have never subscribed before. That is worth reporting. Email support@vexatrade.ai with your account email and the charge details.
- You are on iPhone, iPad or Android. Apple and Google decide trial eligibility their own way, per subscription. See How the free trial works.
- You used a referral link and still got charged. Referral trials apply to monthly plans only, and only to people who have never subscribed to VEXA before. See Apply a referral code.
