How the free trial works

The 14-day trial is monthly only, needs a card, and on the web you get one per lifetime. Here is exactly who qualifies and what happens on day 14.

Same on every platform Updated

What this does

The free trial is 14 days of your chosen plan with no charge. On day 14 the plan renews at its normal price unless you cancelled first.

Before you start

  • Monthly plans only. Annual plans are charged in full on the day you buy them. There is no annual trial on any platform.
  • A payment method is required. The trial exists so you can evaluate VEXA, not so you can use it without a card on file.
  • One trial per person on the web. Anyone who has held a VEXA subscription before does not get another one through Stripe. On iPhone, iPad and Android the store decides, and it scopes the check more narrowly. See “Who does not get a trial” below.

Who does not get a trial

On the web, any prior Stripe subscription removes the trial. If you subscribed to VEXA before, even briefly, even long ago, checking out again charges you immediately. This is the single most common billing surprise, and it has its own article: Why was I charged immediately instead of getting a trial?

On iPhone and iPad, Apple decides trial eligibility per subscription group. If you have used an introductory offer in VEXA’s subscription group before, the paywall stops offering it and the button reads “Get Pro” rather than “Start 14-Day Free Trial”. The app never claims a trial you cannot have.

On Android, both monthly offers are configured for new customers who have never held that subscription. Buying Edge Monthly after previously holding Edge Monthly does not repeat the trial.

What happens during the trial

Everything in your plan is unlocked. You appear in the app as a subscriber, and Profile > Subscription carries a green Trial badge with “Trial ends {date}”.

About two days before it converts, VEXA emails you. The subject reads “Your VEXA {Edge or Pro} trial ends on {date}”. It tells you how long is left and offers the annual switch. It is sent once per trial.

What happens on day 14

Your card is charged the plan price and the subscription becomes active. There is no second confirmation step.

Cancel before day 14 and you are not charged at all. Access continues to the end of the trial period. See Cancel your subscription.

What you should see

Profile > Subscription shows your plan with a Trial badge and the date your trial ends. After conversion the badge changes to Active and the line changes to “Renews {date}”.

If it doesn’t work

  • You were charged on day one. Either you chose an annual plan, or you have subscribed before. See Why was I charged immediately instead of getting a trial?.
  • The button says “Get Pro” rather than offering a trial. The store has told VEXA you are not eligible for an introductory offer, so the app does not offer one.
  • Switching to annual mid-trial ended the trial. That is expected. Annual bills immediately, so the switch forfeits the remaining trial days. See Switch between monthly and annual billing.
