Why a feature is locked
Which parts of VEXA need Pro, why everything else is open on the free plan, and what a lock screen is actually telling you.

What this does
When you open something your plan does not cover, VEXA shows a lock screen instead of the feature. There are two plans, so there is only one question to answer: does this screen need Pro?
What needs Pro
The rule is that VEXA charges for the AI, not for the platform. If a screen spends an AI call on your behalf, it needs Pro:
- VEXA Chat, past the 5 messages a month the free plan includes
- Voice AI Coaching, past the 5 minutes a month the free plan includes
- VEXA Sentinel
- AI Pattern Recognition
- Weekly Overview
- VEXA Summaries
- The CDI breakdown and the VEXA Score breakdown, along with the AI insights that explain them
- AI Import, the parser for broker files VEXA has no dedicated importer for
- AI trade commentary and what-if scenarios inside Trade Analysis

- The Rules Tracker
The Rules Tracker is the odd one out. It is not AI, and it needs Pro anyway.
On MetaTrader, the free plan connects one account and syncs on the schedule. A manual Sync now, and a second MetaTrader account, need Pro.
What Edge (Free) opens
Everything else, with no card:
- Broker connections, every automatic sync and every CSV import
- Trades and your full history
- Metrics and the customisable dashboard
- The Journal
- Trade Analysis
- Open Positions
- Playbooks, strategies and tags
- The advanced chart
- Communities and Leaderboards
- Home, Profile, the plan picker and onboarding
Your own history is not locked
Your trades, metrics and journal stay open on the free plan. If your Pro subscription ends, you keep reading everything you recorded, and your brokers keep syncing new trades in.
Your VEXA Score and your three CDI rings keep calculating too. The number is free on every plan. What Pro adds is the breakdown behind it and the written explanation of why it moved.
What a lock screen looks like
An orange lock in a halo over the animated backdrop, with copy that depends on who you are:

The first row covers lapsed subscribers as well as people who have never paid, because the lock screen cannot tell them apart and does not need to. Both are offered the plan itself. Pressing the button takes you to the paywall, and subscribing charges you immediately. See Pricing and billing cycles.
Where a whole page is gated, the blurred shape behind the lock is decoration. No real content is loaded behind it.
The back button on a lock screen always returns to Home rather than the previous screen, so a locked tab cannot trap you.
What you should see
Once Pro starts, the lock disappears on the next screen load. Nothing needs reinstalling and no sign-out is required.
If it doesn’t work
- You are paying and a feature is still locked. Pro covers every gated feature, so this is a provisioning delay rather than a plan problem. See I paid but VEXA still says I’m locked.
- A feature locked while you were using it. Your Welcome Package ended at that moment. Access relocks the second it expires rather than at next launch. See Your Welcome Package: Full Access explained.
- You bought on your phone and the web is locked. Sign in on the web with the same account. Entitlements follow the account, not the device.
