Why my score shows "- -"
The two-dash placeholder means a calculation is in flight, has never run, or is blocked. Here is how to tell which.
What this does
- - in the score gauge or in a CDI ring is a placeholder, not a score. It is never a zero, and it is not an error on its own. The same two dashes appear on every platform.
The three reasons
1. A calculation is running right now.
This is the common one. Pressing Sync Trades starts a broker sync and then fires a score recalculation about ten seconds later. While it runs, the gauge and all three rings hold the placeholder. The web cycles a set of loading messages every few seconds, and the apps show a progress line under the gauge.
A recalculation typically takes around a minute and a half. Nothing is stuck until several minutes have passed.
2. No score has ever been calculated for you.
The apps say “Scores not calculated yet” under the dashes. This happens on a fresh account before any trades have been imported and scored. Import trades, then recalculate.
A brand-new account with data but no scores yet can also show a plain 0 on the web rather than dashes. Both mean the same thing: nothing has been computed.
3. Score calculation is blocked on your account.
Scores need Edge or Pro. On a free account the whole scoring pipeline is skipped, and Home renders with its score and AI sections blank. Nothing is wrong with your data. See Why a feature is locked.
Steps
Same on every platform
- Wait two minutes. If a sync started the recalculation, the number appears on its own.
- Check whether you have any imported trades. No trades means nothing to score.
- Check your access. Scores need Edge or Pro.
- If all three are fine, force a recalculation. See Recalculate your scores.
What you should see
A number from 0 to 100 in the gauge and three numbers in the rings. The insight card fills in underneath shortly afterwards.
A warning triangle with “Error loading scores” is a different state from the dashes. That one means the read failed rather than that the score is missing, and reopening the screen usually clears it.
If it doesn’t work
- The dashes never clear, even after a recalculation. Check the date you are looking at. VEXA does not calculate scores for dates more than 30 days old. Only today can be forced.
- The rings show dashes but the main gauge has a number. A calculation is partway through. Give it a moment.
- Your score sits at 0 and will not move. Zero is a real score for an account with no trading activity in the scoring window. Import trades and recalculate.
