Journal limits

The caps that are built in: 22 day cards on the web, seven automatic summaries, and health data that comes from the night before.

What this does

The Journal has a few hard limits. None of them mean data is missing, and all of them have a reason. Knowing them saves you looking for a bug that is not there.

Twenty-two day cards on the web

The web Day view renders at most 22 day cards, newest first, however wide your date range is. Set a 90-day range and you get the 22 most recent days that had activity, not 90 cards.

To reach an older day, narrow the range so that day falls inside the most recent 22.

This cap does not exist on iPhone, iPad, Android or Android tablet, because those Journals show one day at a time and you step through them.

Seven automatic summaries

VEXA generates a day summary automatically for at most the seven most recent days that do not already have one. Every day older than that needs the button pressed. See VEXA Summary: your AI day recap.

There is also a background allowance of 50 AI summary calls per account per day, resetting at midnight UTC.

Health data is the night before

In the web Journal’s expanded view, Sleep, HRV and Recovery come from the previous calendar day’s health record. That is deliberate: the sleep that shaped Monday’s session happened on Sunday night.

The apps read health for the selected date itself, so a phone and a browser can legitimately show different sleep hours against the same Journal day. Neither is a bad read.

A day only appears if something is on it

A day card exists when the day has at least one of these:

a trade
a journal entry
a Showed Up mark

An empty day is not rendered. If you want to write about a day you did not trade, mark it as Showed Up first. See Mark a Showed Up day.

Trades are included on a wider test than elsewhere

The Journal includes a trade when either its entry or its exit falls in your range, then places it on its entry date. Other screens filter on the exit date alone. See Why a trade appears on a different day in different places.

What you should see

Twenty-two cards at most on the web, one day at a time in the apps, and summaries present on your recent days without you asking.

The Android phone Journal always syncs from the server when it opens, so expect a short load even on a warm app. The local cache was found going months stale, and a guaranteed fresh read was judged the lesser cost.

If it doesn’t work

An old day will not appear. Narrow the date range around it.
A day with trades is missing. Check the account filter. Trades with no broker account attached drop out as soon as any account is selected.
Nothing appears at all. The web Day view says “No Trading Days” when the range holds no activity and no entries. Widen the range.
