Drill down from a chart to your trades
Click a bar, a day or a symbol to see the trades behind it, and understand why that click does not change the filters you had set.
What this does
Most widgets on the Metrics board are clickable. Clicking a piece of a chart opens the trades that produced it, so you never have to reconstruct a filter by hand to answer “which trades were those?”.
Before you start
The web opens the full Trades screen with the drill-down applied. iPhone, iPad, Android and Android tablet open a filtered list in place instead. On the phones that is because there is no separate Trades screen to send you to. Both tablets do have one, but a drill-down keeps you on Metrics rather than navigating away from the board you were reading.
What is clickable

Steps
- Open Metrics in the sidebar.
- Click the part of a chart you want to inspect.
- Read the trades on the Trades screen that opens.
- Use the browser back control to return to Metrics with your original filters intact.
- Tap the bar chart icon, fourth along the row at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap a bar, a tile such as Winning Trades, or a calendar day.
- Read the filtered list that opens.
- Close it to return to the board.
- Open Metrics in the sidebar.
- Tap a bar, a tile such as Total Trades, or a calendar day.
- Read the filtered list or the day view that opens.
- Close it to return to the board.
- Tap the bar chart icon, fourth along the row at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap a bar, the win and loss split bar, or a calendar day.
- Read the filtered dialog that opens. It is titled with what you clicked, for example the tag or playbook name, and shows the trade count.
- Tap Close to return to the board.
- Open Metrics in the sidebar.
- Tap a bar, the win and loss split bar, or a calendar day.
- Read the filtered dialog, or the two-pane day view for a calendar day.
- Close it to return to the board.
Your filters survive the trip
On the web, a drill-down applies its date and tag conditions as a temporary override on the Trades screen. They are not written back into the global filters. Going back to Metrics restores exactly the range and accounts you had, rather than leaving you on the single day you clicked.
The account filter is the exception: it is genuinely global and stays applied through the drill-down, which is what you want, because a drill-down that quietly widened to every account would report a different number from the bar you clicked.
What a click carries with it
Opening a trade from a drilled-down list hands that whole list to the trade screen in the order you were reading it. The previous and next controls on a trade then walk that list, not your entire history. Walk to the end of a day’s trades and you have seen that day, not the next five hundred trades.
What you should see
A list whose count matches the number the widget showed. A bar reporting eleven trades opens eleven trades. If it does not, the two views are not on the same filters.
If it doesn’t work
- The list is empty. The window may be half-open and your trade sits on the boundary. A time window of 09:30 to 09:35 excludes a trade entered at exactly 09:35.
- The count does not match the bar. Check whether the Status filter is including open positions, which appear in some views and not others.
- A calendar day will not open. Blue holiday cells are not clickable and days with no trades have nothing to open.
