Cloud Sync and what syncs where

What the Cloud Sync card does, when it runs on its own, and which few things stay on the device they were set on.

What this does

Cloud Sync pushes what the app is holding up to your account, so the same trades, health data, profile answers and scores appear on every device you sign in on. It runs on its own twice a day, and the card lets you run it now.

Before you start

The web app has no Cloud Sync card and does not need one. It reads and writes your account directly, so there is nothing queued locally to push.

The iPad app has no Cloud Sync card either. It reads your account the same way. Use your phone if you want to force a sync.

Cloud Sync is not the same as syncing your broker. Cloud Sync moves what the app already has. Pulling new trades from a broker is Sync Trades on Home. If you are waiting for today’s fills to appear, that is the button you want, not this card.

Signing out clears the local cache. Anything not yet synced when you sign out is gone from the device. Run a sync first if you have been offline.

Steps

  1. Tap the circular avatar at the top right of Home.
  2. Scroll to Cloud Sync.
  3. Tap Sync with Cloud.
  4. Wait for the last-synced time to update.
  1. Tap the circular avatar at the top right of Home.
  2. Scroll to Cloud Sync.
  3. Tap the sync button.
  4. Watch the progress card until it finishes.
  1. Tap the profile chip at the bottom of the sidebar.
  2. Find Cloud Sync in the right-hand column.
  3. Tap the sync button.
  4. Watch the progress card until it finishes.

What you should see

The card states what it covers: “Syncs all trading data, health metrics, profile info, and VEXA scores to the cloud. Automatic sync runs twice daily at 10:05 AM and 5:05 AM.”

On Android a progress card appears while it runs, reading “Step N of M” with a bar, and finishing with a line like “Successfully imported N trades (M duplicates removed)”. Duplicates being removed is normal and expected, not a sign anything went wrong.

Afterwards, “Last synced” shows a moment ago. Open the same account on another device and the figures should match.

What does not sync, because it belongs to the device rather than the account:

  • The order you arranged your metrics widgets in.
  • The order of charts on a screen.
  • Whether you have seen the guided walkthrough on that device.
  • Sidebar collapse state on the tablets.

Set those once per device. Nothing else in VEXA behaves this way.

If it doesn’t work

The last-synced time does not move. Check your connection, then try once more. A sync that cannot reach the server leaves the previous time in place rather than pretending.

A device shows fewer trades than another. Run Cloud Sync on the device that has more, then pull to refresh on the one that has fewer.

You expected today’s trades and they are not there. Cloud Sync does not fetch from your broker. Use Sync Trades on Home for that.

Duplicates were reported as removed and you are worried about losing trades. The count refers to records that already existed in your account. Nothing unique is discarded.
