You already signed up with a different method

What the blue Connect your accounts card means, and how to put both sign-in methods on one account instead of splitting your subscription.

Web Updated

What this does

If you try to sign in with Google on an email address that VEXA already knows through Apple, or the other way round, the sign-in page stops and offers to join the two together. Confirming links both methods to one account. The card is titled Connect your accounts.

This matters because a subscription belongs to an account. Two accounts on one email address can end up with two subscriptions and two sets of trades.

Before you start

The card appears on the web sign-in page. On the phones and tablets you will instead be told which method the address is registered with. Sign in there with that method, then link the second one from the web app. See Add or remove a sign-in method.

Nothing is merged. Linking attaches a second key to the same lock. Your trades, scores and plan were never duplicated, so there is nothing to combine.

If the existing method is a password, there is nothing to click. The card tells you to sign in with email and password using the form already on the page.

Steps

Web only

  1. On the sign-in page, read which provider the card names as the existing one.
  2. Click the button offering to continue with that provider.
  3. Finish in the window that opens.
  4. You are signed in, and the method you originally tried is now linked to the same account.

What you should see

The card reads, with your address and providers filled in: “{email} is already signed in with {provider}. Continue with {provider} once and we’ll link {the other provider} to the same account. Your subscription and data stay together.”

After confirming, you land in your account with your trades and your plan in place. Open your profile and check Connected Accounts: both providers should now show as linked, and from then on either button signs you in.

If it doesn’t work

You cancelled the card and got stuck in a loop. Sign in with the provider the card named. That one always works, with or without linking.

You cannot get into the existing provider account at all. Do not create a second VEXA account to get around it, because your subscription and trades are on the first one. Write to support@vexatrade.ai from the email address in question.

You already made a second account before seeing this. Say so to support@vexatrade.ai and give both addresses. Do not subscribe on the second account.
