Set or change your password
Add a password to an account that signs in with Google or Apple, or replace an existing one, and know that doing so signs you out everywhere else.
What this does
A password is a sign-in method you own outright. If your account only signs in through Google or Apple, losing that provider account locks you out of VEXA with nothing we can do about it from our side. Setting a password fixes that.
Before you start
Setting a password signs you out on your other devices. The app warns you before it happens: “Setting a password will sign you out on your other VEXA devices. You’ll stay signed in here.” Your phone, your tablet and any other browser will ask you to sign in again. This is deliberate, because a password change has to invalidate sessions to be worth anything.
Password rules. At least 8 characters, with at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number and one special character. The form shows a live checklist and a strength reading of Weak, Fair, Good or Strong.
On iPhone, iPad and Android tablet, Connected Accounts shows which methods you have but does not change them. Set your password from the web app on any browser, including the one on that device. If you sign in with Apple, there is a dedicated route that emails you a link: Sign in with Apple: set a backup password.
If your Apple account uses Hide My Email, setting a password will not help, because you would never know the address to type. See Using Apple Hide My Email.
Steps
- Open
app.vexatrade.aiand sign in. - In the sidebar, click your name at the bottom, under which it reads View Profile.
- Scroll to Connected Accounts.
- On the Email & password row, choose Set if you have never had one, or Change to replace it.
- Type the new password, then type it again to confirm.
- Read the sign-out warning and confirm.
- Open the app and tap the circular avatar at the top right of Home.
- Scroll to Connected Accounts.
- On the Email & password row, choose Set or Change.
- Type the new password, then type it again to confirm.
- Read the sign-out warning and confirm.
What you should see
The Email & password row changes to linked, and you stay signed in on the device you did it on.
An email arrives shortly afterwards with the subject “Your VEXA password was changed”. It is a
security notice, not something you need to act on. If you get one you did not cause, change the
password again and write to support@vexatrade.ai.
Every other device asks you to sign in again the next time you open it. Nothing is lost. Sign in with the same email address and your new password.
If it doesn’t work
The confirm button stays disabled. One of the five rules is still unmet, or the two fields do not match. The checklist marks which.
You set a password but cannot sign in with it on another device. Check that you are typing the same email address that is on the account. If you signed up with Google, that is the Google address, not a different one you also own.
You wanted a password because you lost access to Google or Apple, and you are already locked out.
A password can only be set from inside a signed-in account. Write to support@vexatrade.ai from the
email address on the account.
