Trade Analysis: a tour of the trade page

What every part of the trade page does on each device: the header, the six tabs, the chart panel and the OPEN badge.

What this does

Trade Analysis is the page for one trade. It holds the chart with your fills marked on it, your notes and tags, the ratings, the risk calculator and the list of executions. Everything you record about a trade is recorded here.

Before you start

Trade Analysis needs an Edge or Pro plan. On the Free plan the page shows the lock screen instead. See Why a feature is locked.

How you reach it depends on your device, because iPhone and Android phone have no Trades screen. Both phones get there through Metrics and through the Journal.

Steps

Open Trades in the sidebar and click a row. Clicking a trade in a Journal day card works too.
The header carries the back arrow, the symbol, the open and close dates, Replay Trade and the trade’s P&L.
The left panel holds the six tabs: Overview, Tags, Playbook, Ratings, Risk and Executions. Above them sit the previous and next chevrons, the heart and the Reviewed check.
The right panel holds the price chart, Trade Statistics and the Execution Timeline.
On a narrow window the two panels stack, chart under info.

Tap the bar chart icon in the tab bar, fourth from the left, to open Trading Metrics.
Tap a day on the calendar, then tap a trade. Tapping a trade in a Journal day works too.
The header carries the back control, the pager arrows, and the Favorite and Reviewed pills.
Below that, six collapsible sections in order: Overview, Tags, Playbook, Ratings, Risk and Executions. Tap a heading to open or close it.
The chart sits with the trade, with its own timeframe control and a maximise button.

The header carries back, and the previous and next chevrons with an N/M counter when you arrived from a list.
The title card shows the symbol, a LONG or SHORT badge, the P&L and the open to close range, with the Favorite and Reviewed pills under it.
A pinned strip of six tabs sits below: Overview, Tags, Playbook, Ratings, Risk and Executions. Every card inside them collapses when you tap its header.

Reading the header

The symbol is the contract as your broker reported it. Option contracts keep their full symbol.

An OPEN badge next to the symbol means the position has not been closed. When a trade is open, the close date reads “Live” instead of a date, and the P&L is labelled Unrealized P&L because it moves with the market.

The P&L is already net of commissions.

What the six tabs hold

Tab	What it is for
Overview	The trade’s key facts, plus your Quick Summary and Lessons Learned notes.
Tags	Setup, mistake and emotion tags. See Tag a trade.
Playbook	Which playbook this trade belongs to, and which of its criteria you met.
Ratings	Seven star ratings and their notes. See Rate a trade.
Risk	The risk calculator. See Use the risk calculator.
Executions	Every fill, and a form to add one by hand.

The notes fields save as you type. There is no save button and there is nothing to lose by navigating away.

What you should see

The page opens on Overview with the chart already loading. The chart briefly shows “Loading chart” while it fetches candles, then draws the trade with entry and exit markers on it.

If it doesn’t work

The page says “Trade not found”. The link points at a trade that no longer exists, usually because it was deleted. Use the back button to return to the list.

The chart never draws. Some instruments have no chart data. See Why a chart is blank.

You see the lock screen instead of the page. Trade Analysis needs Edge or Pro.

Walk between trades The previous and next arrows on the trade page follow the list you arrived from. Here is what they walk, and why a shared link sometimes has no arrows at all.
