Tag a trade

Label a trade with the setup you traded, the mistake you made and how you felt, then find those trades again from the filters and the Metrics widgets.

Same on every platform Updated

What this does

Tags are how you tell VEXA what a trade actually was. Three categories ship with the product: the setup you traded, the mistake you made, and the emotion you were in. Once trades are tagged, the Metrics page can tell you what your revenge trades cost you and which setup pays.

Before you start

Tagging happens on the trade page, which is Edge or Pro. On the Free plan the page shows the lock screen.

Nothing about tagging is retroactive or automatic. VEXA never guesses a tag, so an untagged trade stays untagged until you or VEXA’s coach put a tag on it.

If you have a backlog, tag from the table instead of one at a time. See Bulk-tag trades.

You cannot delete a built-in tag

Trying to delete one of the tags above gives you this message:

Default tags cannot be deleted from the system. To remove a default tag from this trade, click it to toggle it off.

The tag list is shared by every account, so removing one for yourself is not something VEXA offers. Toggling it off the trade is what you want in almost every case. If a category is missing something you need, add your own. See Create and manage custom tags.

Where your tags turn up

  • The Tags filter on the Trades page, and the same filter on Metrics.
  • The P&L by Setups, P&L by Mistakes and P&L by Emotions widgets on Metrics.
  • The Review Status filter, which counts any tagged trade as reviewed.
  • The Stats panel inside Trade Replay.

VEXA’s coach can tag for you

Ask VEXA in chat or by voice to tag a trade and it will. It can also list the tags you already use and create a new one. Tag names are normalised for case, so asking for “revenge” does not create a second tag next to “Revenge Trading”.

What you should see

The pill lights up as soon as you tap it. Go to Metrics, add the P&L by Setups widget, and the tag now has a bar with your P&L on it.

If it doesn’t work

The pill flicks on and then off again. The write failed and the interface rolled back. Check your connection and tap again.

Your tags do not appear in the Metrics widgets. Those widgets read the same date range as the rest of the page. Widen the range so it covers the tagged trades.

A tag filter returns nothing. While any tag filter is on, trades with no tags at all are excluded rather than treated as unmatched. Clear the tag filter to see them again.
