Delete trades
Remove one trade or a selection of trades, what the confirmation shows you first, and why deletion cannot be undone.
What this does
Deleting a trade removes it from VEXA permanently, along with the numbers it contributed to. Your P&L, win rate, scores and playbook stats all recalculate without it.
Before you start
There is no undo. VEXA does not keep a recycle bin for trades, and the confirmation dialog is the last stop.
Deleting is not the same as fixing. If a trade is missing a fill, add the execution on the trade’s Executions tab instead. Deleting rows one at a time is the slow way around a bad import.
Deletion is available on web, iPad and Android tablet. iPhone and Android phone have no trades table to delete from.
Steps
One trade
- Open Trades in the sidebar and find the row.
- Click the trash icon at the end of the row.
- Check the symbol, P&L and direction in the confirmation, then confirm.
Several trades
- Tick the checkbox on each row you want gone.
- Click Delete (N) in the toolbar above the table.
- Confirm in the Delete N Trades dialog.
One trade
- Tap Trades in the sidebar and find the row.
- Long-press the row and choose Delete.
- Confirm.
Several trades
- Enter selection mode and tick the rows you want, or use Select All.
- Choose the delete action.
- Confirm in the dialog.
Several trades, or one
- Tap Trades in the sidebar.
- Tick the checkbox on each row you want gone. The action bar appears reading
Selected: N. - Tap Delete.
- Confirm in the dialog, which reads “Delete N trades? This cannot be undone.”
The header checkbox only selects this page
Ticking the checkbox in the header row selects the trades on the page you are looking at, not every trade matching your filters. With 4,000 filtered trades and 100 to a page, that checkbox selects 100. It shows a partial state when some rows on the page are ticked and some are not.
What you should see
The rows disappear immediately and the five summary tiles recalculate. Large selections are deleted in batches on the server, so a very big delete takes a few seconds.
If it doesn’t work
The dialog stays open with an error. That is deliberate. A failed delete keeps the dialog and the message on screen rather than closing and leaving you guessing. Try again, and if it keeps failing with fewer rows selected, contact support.
The trade reappears later. Deleting removes the trade from VEXA, not from your broker. If you sync or upload a file that still contains it, it can be imported again.
Your scores did not change. Scores recalculate on their own schedule. Use the recalculate control on your home screen if you want the new number now.
