Mark a trade Favorite or Reviewed

The heart and the check on the trade page, what each one actually stores, and why the Reviewed filter on the Trades page means something different.

What this does

Two toggles sit at the top of every trade. Favorite is a bookmark you can come back to. Reviewed is a note to yourself that you have already been through this one.

Before you start

Favorite is a playbook underneath. Every account gets a playbook called Favorites, created for you automatically. Tapping the heart adds the trade to that playbook, and tapping it again removes it. That is why favourited trades turn up in playbook stats.

Reviewed is a plain flag. It is stored on the trade and nothing else reads it.

Steps

  1. Open the trade from Trades or from a Journal day.
  2. The heart and the check sit above the tabs in the left panel.
  3. Click the heart to favourite the trade. Click the check to mark it reviewed.
  4. Click either again to undo it.

  2. Tap the Favorite pill or the Reviewed pill under the header.
  3. Tap again to undo.
  1. Open the trade from Trades in the sidebar.
  2. Tap the heart to favourite the trade, or the check to mark it reviewed.

  1. Open the trade from Metrics or from a Journal day.
  2. Tap the Favorite or Reviewed pill directly under the trade title card.
  3. Tap again to undo.
  1. Open the trade from Trades in the sidebar.
  2. Tap the Favorite or Reviewed pill under the trade title.
  3. Tap again to undo.

The Reviewed filter is a different thing

The Trades page has a Review Status filter with Reviewed and Not Reviewed checkboxes. It does not read this toggle.

That filter treats a trade as reviewed when it has at least one tag or at least one playbook assigned. So a trade you tagged and never looked at again counts as reviewed, and a trade you studied for an hour and ticked the Reviewed check on does not, unless you also tagged it or put it in a playbook.

Because Favorite assigns the Favorites playbook, favouriting a trade does make it match the Reviewed filter.

The two controls share a word and mean different things, which is worth knowing before you rely on the filter to find the trades you have already been through.

What you should see

The heart fills in and the check turns on immediately. Open the Playbooks page and the Favorites playbook now includes the trade.

If it doesn’t work

The heart does not stay on. The write failed and the toggle reverted. Check your connection and try again.

Your Reviewed trades do not show up in the filter. The filter is looking for tags and playbooks, not the Reviewed toggle. Tag the trades you want to find, or use the heart.

The Favorites playbook is not on the Playbooks page. It is created on your first visit to that page. Open Playbooks once and it appears.
