Set up the Polar Verity Sense for Sentinel

Wake the armband with its button, put it in pairing mode, and connect it to VEXA for live heart rate and HRV without a chest strap.

What this does

Connects a Polar Verity Sense armband to VEXA over Bluetooth. Sentinel reads physiology and has no view of your trading, and the Verity Sense feeds it beat-to-beat intervals, so live heart rate variability works. It is the option for people who want HRV without wearing a chest strap.

Before you start

Close the Polar Flow app. The Verity Sense pairs with one app at a time.

The armband has one button. Press it once to wake the device, and the LED blinks to show it is advertising. If no LED is blinking, VEXA has nothing to find.

Wear it on the upper arm, or on the wrist with the supplied strap. Snug enough that it does not slide when you move your arm.

VEXA needs Bluetooth permission on the phone. It asks the first time you scan.

The phone can stay locked with this device.

Steps

  1. Open VEXA Sentinel from the sidebar.
  2. Open the Settings tab.
  3. Under Wearable Source, choose Polar Verity Sense. The setup modal lists the same steps.
  4. Do the pairing on your phone. The web dashboard displays readings and cannot pair a device.

  2. Check that the LED is blinking, which means it is in pairing mode.
  3. Wear it on your upper arm, or on your wrist with the strap.
  4. Close the Polar Flow app if it is running.
  5. Open VEXA, tap Home, then Sentinel, then the gear icon, then Sentinel Settings.
  6. Tap Wearable Source, choose Polar Verity Sense, then tap Scan for Polar Verity Sense.

  2. Check that the LED is blinking, which means it is in pairing mode.
  3. Wear it on your upper arm, or on your wrist with the strap.
  4. Close the Polar Flow app if it is running.
  5. Open VEXA, tap Home, then Sentinel, then the gear icon (Settings), then Sentinel Settings.
  6. Under Wearable source, choose Polar Verity Sense, then tap the scan action.

What you should see

The wearable section shows Polar Verity Sense with the status Connected.

Start a session and the live card shows a beats-per-minute figure updating every couple of seconds, with an HRV figure in milliseconds alongside it.

If it doesn’t work

The scan finds nothing. Either the device is asleep, so press the button and look for the blinking LED, or Polar Flow is holding it, so force close Flow and try again.

It pairs and then loses the reading when you move. The band has slipped. Optical sensors need steady contact with skin, so tighten it a little and keep it above the elbow.

Readings look low or flatline. The sensor is facing away from your skin or sitting on a sleeve. Reseat it against bare skin.
