I don't appear on the leaderboard

Why you are invisible on leaderboards, including the opt-out that is not a switch, the tiers that need a location, and the UTC period boundaries.

What this does

Leaderboards show you only if you have chosen to share at least one metric. There is no single “participate” switch. Four things can keep you off a board.

Before you start

On iPad, open Communities from the sidebar. If you cannot find the leaderboard settings there, change them on your phone or on the web. They belong to your account, so a change made anywhere applies everywhere.

The four reasons

1. You are sharing no metrics

Deselecting every metric is the opt-out. There is no separate participation toggle. If your shared-metrics list is empty you are invisible on every board, and an amber banner tells you so. Selecting one metric puts you back on.

2. You have not set a location

The Global tier works for everyone. The Country and Region tiers stay disabled until you set your location, because there is nothing to rank you within. Setting it enables both.

3. The period has not caught up

Leaderboard periods are computed in UTC, and the boundaries are shown next to the period selector. If you are in Asia or the Americas, your local “today” and the board’s “today” do not start at the same moment. Yearly is a rolling last 365 days, not a calendar year: the pill says “Last 365 Days”.

4. Your display mode is locked

Switching between your real name and an anonymous identifier locks that choice for 30 days. The panel shows “Locked for N more days” and disables the control. You are still ranked during the lock, under whichever identity was active when you changed it.

Steps

  1. Open Communities from the sidebar.
  2. Open Leaderboard Settings.
  3. Under shared metrics, select at least one. Watch the banner change from amber to green.
  4. Set your location if you want the Country and Region tiers.
  5. Go back to the Leaderboards tab and check the period selector, then look for your rank badge.
  1. From Home, open the Communities & Leaderboards card.
  2. Open Leaderboard Settings.
  3. Select at least one metric to share.
  4. Set your location if you want the Country and Region tiers.
  5. Return to the Leaderboards tab and check your rank.

What you should see

A green banner confirming you are visible, and your own row highlighted with a rank badge on at least the Global tier for the period you have selected.

If it doesn’t work

  • You are visible but ranked lower than you expect. Check the period. A rolling 365-day board and a monthly board rank very differently.
  • Your metric value on the board differs from your own screens. See Two pages show different numbers.
  • You want to come off the boards entirely. Deselect every metric. That is the opt-out.
  • You share metrics, have a location, and still see nothing after a full day. See Contact support.
