How VEXA remembers you
Why the coach recalls things you said weeks ago, what it keeps, and the fact that there is no screen for managing it.
What this does
VEXA carries things forward between conversations. Tell it in March that you size up after a loss, and in May it can bring that up without you repeating yourself.
How it works
Your messages and VEXA’s replies are stored on your account. A conversation covers one day, measured by your device’s own clock, so the first message you send after midnight starts a new one.
Once a conversation goes quiet, VEXA writes a short summary of it. Facts are then pulled out of those summaries and kept separately. They fall into six kinds: a preference, a pattern in your trading, a struggle, a goal, an insight, and a plain fact about you. A fact is only kept when VEXA is reasonably confident about it, and saying the same thing again strengthens the existing fact instead of storing a second copy.
Every new conversation opens with a briefing. Your last three conversation summaries and your ten strongest facts are loaded before your first message is answered, which is why a fresh chat already knows you.
Facts fade. Anything that stops being reinforced loses confidence over time and eventually stops being loaded at all.
The same memory serves chat and voice. Something you said out loud can come back in a typed conversation.
There is no screen for managing this
This is worth stating plainly, because it is the part people expect to find and cannot.
VEXA has no memory manager. You cannot browse the facts it holds about you, edit one, or delete one individually. There is no list, on any of the five surfaces.
What you can do:
- See what is stored. Export your data from your profile. The export includes the stored facts and your conversation history, so it is the only way to read what VEXA holds.
- Let something fade. What you keep saying gets reinforced. What you stop saying loses confidence and drops out of the briefing.
- Delete everything. Deleting your account removes the memories along with the rest of your data.
Revoking AI consent stops new memories being formed, because nothing further is processed. It does not delete the ones already there. See Give or revoke AI consent.
What you should see
A new conversation that opens with context. VEXA referring to a struggle you described a month ago, or to a goal you set, without you mentioning it in that session.
Deleting a conversation removes the messages. A fact already extracted from it stays, because it was copied out before the deletion. See Manage your chat history.
If it doesn’t work
It has forgotten something you told it once. One mention may not have cleared the confidence bar, or it may have faded. Say it again.
It is holding something that is no longer true. Tell it the current version in conversation, and keep to it. The old fact fades as the new one is reinforced. There is no way to strike the old one out directly.
It brought up something you would rather it dropped. Export your data to see what is stored, then decide whether to delete your account. Those are the two controls that exist today.
You want a memory manager. It does not exist yet. Tell support you want one, since that is what drives it being built.
