Ask VEXA to change something
Tag a trade, add to a journal entry or set a reminder by asking, and see where VEXA writes it and what it will never overwrite.
What this does
Most of what you ask VEXA is a question. Some of it is an instruction, and it will carry those out rather than tell you how to do them yourself.
It can:
- Tag a trade, and create a new tag if you name one that does not exist
- Add to a trade’s summary
- Add to a day’s journal entry
- Record today’s figure for a Rules Tracker rule
- Set, change, pause or delete a reminder
Everything here works in chat and in voice.
Before you start
Two rules govern how it writes, and both are there to stop it damaging your journal.
It appends, it does not overwrite. When VEXA adds to a journal entry or a trade summary, it
writes below a line reading --- Vexa Analysis ---. What you wrote stays above it, untouched.
Ask and it acts. Suggest and it asks. If you say “tag that one as revenge trade”, it does it and tells you. If VEXA is the one who thinks a trade looks like a revenge trade, it asks you first and waits.
How to ask
Say what you want in plain language and name the thing you mean.
- “Tag my NVDA trade from Tuesday as chased entry”
- “Add a tag called news fade”
- “Add to today’s journal: stopped trading after the second loss, felt right”
- “Write on that trade that I sized up because the setup was clean”
- “Remind me to review my rules at 9:15 tomorrow”
- “Log 2 for my max trades rule today”
If the trade you mean is ambiguous, VEXA asks which one before writing anything.
What you should see
The change appears where you would expect it, and it appears straight away.
- A tag shows on the trade in Trades and in Trade Analysis, and starts counting in your tag performance.
- Journal and trade-summary text appears below the
--- Vexa Analysis ---line on that day or that trade. - A reminder appears in your reminder list and arrives at the time you set. See Voice reminders.
VEXA also confirms in the conversation, naming what it changed.
Undoing something
There is no undo button in the conversation. Edit the trade or the journal entry directly the way you normally would, or ask VEXA to remove the tag it added.
If it doesn’t work
It described the steps instead of doing it. Rephrase as an instruction rather than a question. “Tag it as revenge trade” rather than “can you tag trades?”.
It tagged the wrong trade. Name the symbol and the date. VEXA matches on what you gave it, and a bare “that trade” means whatever it was last looking at.
Your own journal text vanished. It should not, since VEXA appends. Open the entry and scroll
above the --- Vexa Analysis --- line before reporting it, then contact support with the date if it
is genuinely gone.
Nothing was written and no error appeared. The write happens after the reply starts, so give it a moment and refresh the page or pull to refresh.
