Complete onboarding
The questions VEXA asks after signup, why each one changes your scores, and which steps you can skip and come back to.
What this does
Onboarding calibrates VEXA to you. The answers are not a formality: your trading style changes what counts as a good win rate, and your maximum daily loss becomes the line the Discipline score grades you against.
The primer the mobile apps show before the first question puts it plainly. Answer honestly. The better your answers, the sharper the coaching.
Before you start
The step order is different on web and on mobile. Web opens with your profile details and leaves health until near the end. The four app surfaces ask for health permissions second and put broker setup before the trading questions. Do not follow a mobile walkthrough on the web and expect the same order.
You cannot leave onboarding half done and use the app. Until it is finished, opening the dashboard sends you back to where you stopped. The steps that can be skipped are marked below, and skipping one still counts as finishing.
Nothing here is permanent. Every answer can be changed later from Profile.
Steps
- Profile. Enter your full name and date of birth. Your email is filled in and locked.
- Experience. Pick how long you have been trading. Six brackets, from under 3 months to 5+ years.
- Goals. Choose one or more trading styles: Scalper, Intraday Trader, Swing Trader or Positional Trader. Write your trading goals in at least a sentence. Current struggles is optional here.
- Risk Management. Choose your trading currency, then set your maximum daily loss. VEXA warns you as you approach it.
- Select Broker. Search for your broker and pick it. You can Skip for now.
- Setup Broker. Connect the broker you picked, either with an API token or by uploading a file. You can skip this too.
- Connect Health. Reading only. Health data is captured by the iPhone or Android app, so this step tells you to install one. There is nothing to press.
- Choose Plan. Pick Edge or Pro, or take the skip link at the bottom. During Full Access the skip link reads Continue with Full Access.
- Sign In. Create the account or sign in. This is step one of onboarding, not a separate screen.
- Connect Health Data. Tap Connect HealthKit and allow the permissions iOS asks for, or tap Skip for now. This is what feeds sleep, heart rate and recovery into your scores.
- Select Your Broker. Search the broker grid and tap yours, or Skip for now.
- Connect Trading Account. Complete the setup for the broker you picked, or skip.
- Trading Experience. Pick your bracket.
- Your Trading Journey. Choose your trading styles, write your goals and what you are struggling with, then set your Currency and Max Daily Loss.
- Choose Your Plan. Pick a plan, or Skip for now. During Full Access this step shows the Full Access page with Start exploring instead.
- All Set! appears, and the guided walkthrough starts.
- Sign In. Create the account or sign in.
- Connect Health Data. Grant it if you want to, or tap Skip for now. iPad does read Apple Health, so granting it lets your iPad show the sleep and resting heart rate your iPhone or watch recorded. What it cannot do is measure a live pulse, so a Sentinel session still has to run on your phone.
Pick a plan, or skip.
- All Set! appears, and the guided walkthrough starts.
- Sign In. Create the account or sign in.
- Health Connect. Read what VEXA uses sleep, heart rate and activity for, then press Continue and allow the permissions, or Skip for now.
- Connect Your Broker. Search the list and tap your broker. Tapping a broker moves you straight into its setup, so there is no separate Continue press. Skip for now is at the bottom.
- Broker setup. Complete the setup for the broker you picked, or skip.
- Trading Experience. Pick your bracket.
- Your Trading Journey. Write your trading goals and your current struggles, then choose your currency and set your Max Daily Loss. Both text fields are required on Android.
- Subscribe. Pick a plan, or dismiss the step. During Full Access it reads Continue with Full Access.
- All Set! appears for about two seconds, then the guided walkthrough starts.
- Sign In. Create the account or sign in.
- Health Connect. Press Skip for now. Health capture needs a phone, so connect it on your Android phone instead.
- Connect Your Broker. Search the list and tap your broker, which moves you straight into its setup. Skip for now is at the bottom.
- Broker setup. Complete the setup for the broker you picked, or skip.
- Trading Experience. Pick your bracket.
- Your Trading Journey. Write your trading goals and your current struggles, then choose your currency and set your Max Daily Loss. Both text fields are required.
- Subscribe. Pick a plan, or dismiss the step.
- All Set! appears, then the guided walkthrough starts.
What you should see
The last screen confirms you are done, then hands you to the app. On the four app surfaces a spotlight tour starts immediately and walks you round Home. On the web there is no tour, so you land on the dashboard directly.
Your maximum daily loss is now live. Cross it and VEXA flags it, and your Discipline score reflects it.
If you connected a broker during onboarding, a sync is probably already running in the background. Android shows a card at the bottom of the screen saying so, which dismisses itself after five seconds.
If it doesn’t work
You skipped the broker step and it jumped two screens forward. That is correct. Skipping broker selection deliberately skips broker setup too, because a setup screen with no broker chosen has nothing to show. Connect the broker later from Profile.
“Failed to save profile data. Please check your connection and try again.” The step could not be saved, so it will not let you move on. Check your connection and press Continue again. Each step saves on its own, so the steps you already completed are safe.
The keyboard is covering the Continue button. The maximum daily loss field is a number pad with no return key. On iPhone and iPad use the Done button on the keyboard toolbar. On Android the form lifts above the keyboard, so scroll down.
Health Connect will not open on Android. A dialog explains that Health Connect needs Android 13 or later with Health Connect installed from the Play Store, or Android 14 or later where it is built in. Install Health Connect takes you there, and Continue Without Health Data carries on without it.
You signed out partway through and came back to a stuck screen. Sign in again and the flow resumes from the sign-in step with your answers cleared. Older Android builds could land on a spinner that never advanced. Update the app if that happens.
