Add VEXA widgets to your home screen

The four iOS widgets and the four Android widgets, what each one shows, and how far behind the live numbers they can be.

What this does

Puts your P&L, your VEXA Score and your day streak on your home screen so you can check them without opening the app.

Widgets are an app feature. The web app has none.

Before you start

Open VEXA and sign in at least once on the device first. Until the app has run and written data, a widget shows placeholder dashes rather than your numbers.

Widgets read a local copy of your data, not the live account. On iPhone and iPad they refresh about once an hour, plus immediately whenever the app writes something new. On Android they refresh every three hours, and only when the device has a connection. A widget being a little behind the app is normal, not a fault.

Steps

  1. Touch and hold an empty area of your Home Screen until the icons wobble.
  2. Tap the + button in the top corner.
  3. Search for VEXA.
  4. Swipe through the sizes, pick one, and tap Add Widget.
  5. Drag it where you want it and tap Done.

What you should see

On iPhone and iPad, four widgets:

WidgetSizesWhat it shows
VEXA ScoreSmall, Medium, Large, Extra Large on iPad, and Lock ScreenSmall is the score alone. Medium adds the three CDI rings. Large adds a trading block with P&L, win rate, trades and weekly, plus a health block with sleep, HRV, recovery and resting heart rate.
Win StreakSmallYour day count, labelled as a win streak, a losing streak, or no active streak.
Daily P&LSmallYour most recent trading day’s P&L and its trade count.
Start SentinelLock ScreenA shield and “Tap to start”. See Add the Sentinel Lock Screen widget.

On Android and Android tablet, four widgets:

WidgetDefault sizeWhat it shows
VEXA Score2 by 2, resizableYour score. Resize it and the layout changes, up to a wide dashboard on a tablet.
VEXA Daily P&L2 by 2Your last trading session’s total, with the session date underneath.
VEXA Win Streak2 by 2Your consecutive trading day streak. Orange with a flame while you are winning, red while you are losing.
VEXA CDI Board4 by 2The Confidence, Discipline and Intuition rings with their captions.

Empty states are wording, not blanks. Android’s Daily P&L reads “NO SESSION DATA” and Win Streak reads “NO ACTIVE STREAK” when there is nothing to show.

Things the widgets do that look like bugs

The date on an iOS widget is not your local date. Widget dates follow the New York trading day, so the label can differ from your phone’s date if you trade from another timezone.

A day that ended exactly flat breaks your streak. A $0 day counts as neither a win nor a loss, and the streak restarts. Weekends, holidays and days you did not trade do not break it, because only trading days count.

The Android widgets read a 30-day window of trades. They are built for today and this week, not for lifetime figures. Open the app for anything longer.

If it doesn’t work

The widget shows dashes. Open VEXA and sign in on that device. Widgets have nothing to read until the app has run once.

The numbers are behind the app. Give it up to an hour on iPhone or iPad, and up to three hours on Android. Opening the app refreshes them sooner.

No VEXA widgets in the picker. Restart the device. Both platforms cache the widget list, and a newly installed app sometimes does not appear until the launcher reloads.

The previous person’s numbers are showing on a shared device. Signing out clears the widget data. If old figures survive a sign out, update the app.
