What this does
Defines the words VEXA uses that either mean something specific here or get confused with something else.
Scores
VEXA Score. One number from 0 to 100 summarising how you are trading. It is a weighted blend of the three CDI scores. The default weights are 40% Confidence, 35% Discipline and 25% Intuition, and VEXA is allowed to shift them to fit how you actually trade.
CDI. Confidence, Discipline and Intuition, shown as three rings on Home. Tapping a ring opens its breakdown.
Confidence. Do you have an edge, and do you back it? Built from win rate read against your trading style, profit factor, average outcome per trade, and how consistent your daily results are. A win rate that is good for a scalper is not the same number as one that is good for a swing trader, which is why the style you set during onboarding matters.
Discipline. Do you follow your own rules? Built from how you handle your maximum daily loss, how much your P&L swings inside a day, last night’s sleep, and behaviours like cutting losers, revenge trading and consistent position sizing.
Intuition. Timing and read. Built from profit factor, winning and losing streaks, time of day performance, entry and exit quality, and sleep.
Showed Up day. A day you were at your desk and chose not to trade. It counts toward Discipline rather than against you, and it is worth more after a red day. You mark one yourself by ticking the box on an empty day in the Calendar Heatmap on the Metrics page. It then appears in your Journal as a Discipline Day.
Recalculate. Forcing a fresh score rather than waiting for the next scheduled one. Use it after a large import. It is not instant.
- -. Not zero. It means the score has not been calculated yet, or a sync is in flight.
Plans and access
Free. No subscription. Home and Profile stay open. Most other screens are locked, including Communities, Leaderboards and your VEXA Score breakdown.
Edge. $34.99 a month, or $349.99 a year, which works out at $29.17 a month. Journal, Metrics, Chat, Voice, Trades, Playbooks, Rules Tracker, Portfolio, Communities and Leaderboards, plus your VEXA Score breakdown.
Pro. $59.99 a month, or $479.99 a year, which works out at $39.99 a month. Everything in Edge plus Sentinel, Pattern Recognition and Weekly Overview, with higher AI limits.
Full Access. The seven days of Pro every new account gets at signup, with no card. Once per email address, ever. See Your first week is on us.
Free trial. 14 days on a monthly plan, on the web, iPhone and Android. It needs a payment method, and it starts the moment you pick a plan. A referral link on the web makes it 30 days instead. Annual plans have no trial and bill in full immediately.
Trades and imports
Execution. A single fill: one buy or one sell, at one price. This is the unit brokers report and the unit VEXA imports.
Trade. A position from flat back to flat, assembled from executions in the order they happened. A round trip is at least two executions, and often many more.
Effective direction. What your position is actually betting on, rather than what you literally pressed. Buying a put shows as SHORT, because the exposure is bearish, even though you bought something. The individual execution rows still read BUY and SELL as they happened.
Mark. The current price VEXA uses to value an open position. When it cannot price something,
that cell reads a dash rather than $0, and the position is left out of the totals at the top of the
page. A tile saying “7/9 positions with usable marks” is telling you two positions could not be
priced.
Deduplication. VEXA identifies each execution by what it is, not by which file it arrived in. Uploading the same export twice is safe.
Display Timezone. The timezone you read your trades in. Changing it never changes your data, because trades are always stored in UTC.
Broker Server Timezone. The timezone your broker stamps its own records in, which is often not where you live. A few brokers need this set correctly or every trade lands on the wrong day. It is a different setting from Display Timezone, and both live in Profile.
VEXA AI Import. The web importer that reads a CSV from a broker VEXA has no dedicated parser for, works out which column is which, and shows you a preview before writing anything.
Manual CSV Template. A blank VEXA-format spreadsheet you fill in yourself, for when there is no usable export at all. One row per execution, and delete the example rows before you upload it.
Rules and journal
Rules Tracker. Rules you write about how you intend to trade, graded against each day automatically. Separate from Sentinel, which watches your body rather than your rules.
Compliance score. A daily 0 to 100 across your rules. A rule you followed scores 1, a rule you partly followed scores 0.5, a rule you broke scores 0, and a rule that could not apply that day is left out of the calculation entirely rather than counted as a pass.
Compliance band. The label on that score. Elite at 90 and above, Solid at 75 and above, Needs Work at 50 and above, Reset below that. A day where every rule was inapplicable has no score and no band, and shows a dash.
Playbook. A named setup with its own entry and exit criteria, which you assign to trades so you can see how each setup actually performs.
Tag. A label on a trade. VEXA ships 30 built-in tags across setup, mistake and emotion, and you can add your own.
Sentinel
Sentinel. The live monitor. During a session it reads your heart rate from a watch or a strap and speaks up when your body suggests you are about to make a decision you would not make calm.
Session. One monitored stretch of trading, from start to stop. Sessions can be started from a phone or the web, and not from iPad or Android tablet.
Baseline. Your own normal range, learned from your sessions. Until it is calibrated Sentinel runs on safe starting thresholds and tells you it is still learning. Give it around 48 hours of use.
Intervention. The moment Sentinel acts: a notification, a spoken line, or an on-screen overlay, depending on how you have set it up and how serious the trigger is.
Intervention rule. A condition you set for when Sentinel should step in, such as heart rate above a number you choose. These are separate from Rules Tracker rules.
Metrics you will see more than once
Win rate. The share of your closed trades that made money.
win rate = winning trades / total closed trades
The Metrics page and the Trades page compute this differently, and both are correct. Metrics divides by every closed trade, so a trade that finished exactly flat pulls the percentage down. The Trades page divides by winners plus losers only, so flat trades are excluded from both sides. If two screens disagree about your win rate, this is why.
Profit factor. For every dollar you lost, how many dollars you made.
profit factor = gross profit / gross loss
Above 1.0 means the winners outweigh the losers. With no losing trades at all, it has nothing to divide by, and the screen shows an infinity symbol rather than a number.
Drawdown. How far below your best-ever running total you currently are, in currency rather than as a percentage.
Green day and red day. A day is green when its net P&L is zero or better, so a day that ended exactly flat counts as green. The widgets treat a flat day differently for streaks: a day at exactly zero breaks a streak rather than extending it.
A difference worth knowing before it confuses you
A trade opened on Monday and closed on Thursday is filed under Monday in your Journal, because the Journal organises by when you entered. The same trade appears on Thursday in the Metrics calendar and the daily P&L chart, because those organise by when you exited.
Neither is wrong. They are answering different questions, and this is the single most common reason two VEXA screens seem to disagree about which day something happened.
