Leave a community

Leaving is hidden behind a long press on iPhone and an overflow menu on Android. Here is where the control actually lives on each platform.

What this does

Leaving removes you from a community’s member list and from its leaderboard. Everything else about your account is untouched.

The control is hard to find on the phones. Nothing on the community card points to it.

Before you start

You can rejoin later with an invite code, so leaving is reversible. Ask the admin for the code before you go if you think you might come back, because a regenerated code will be a different one.

Your trades, journal, scores and subscription are not affected. Leaving changes who you are ranked against, not what VEXA holds.

Steps

  1. Choose Communities in the sidebar, then open the Communities tab.
  2. Open the community.
  3. Choose Leave Community.
  4. Confirm at the prompt asking whether you are sure.
  1. On Home, tap the Communities & Leaderboards card.
  2. Tap the Communities tab.
  3. Long press the community in your list to bring up its context menu, then choose Leave Community. You can also open the community and use its overflow menu.
  4. Confirm.

  3. Open the overflow menu and choose Leave Community.
  4. The confirmation reads “Leave Community?” with the note “You can rejoin later with an invite code.” Confirm.

What you should see

The community disappears from your list, and it stops being an option in the leaderboard’s community filter on the next refresh. Your row is no longer on its member list.

Your ranking on All Communities, country, region and global leaderboards is unchanged. Those never depended on membership.

If you are the admin

Leaving a community you created is not the same as closing it. To remove the community itself rather than only your own membership, delete it instead. See Community settings and deletion.

There is no way to hand admin rights to another member from inside the app. Contact support at support@vexatrade.ai if you need that.

If it doesn’t work

  • You cannot find the control on iPhone. Long press the community in the list rather than tapping it. This is the least discoverable control in Communities.
  • The community is still in your list after leaving. Refresh the list. It is fetched on open.
  • You left a Leaderboard Only community and are still ranked. You are seeing the global or country leaderboard, not that community’s. Check the community filter.
  • You want to rejoin and have no code. Ask a current member. Codes are not recoverable from your side once you have left.
