Link your VEXA account to the Discord server. You are added automatically without an invite link, and disconnecting removes you again.

What this does

Connecting Discord links your VEXA account to the VEXA Discord server. Two things happen at once: you are added to the server, and your roles there are set from your VEXA plan.

There is no invite link to click and no join request to wait on. Authorising the connection puts you in the server directly.

This is separate from Communities inside VEXA. Communities are ranking groups with leaderboards, and Discord is where the conversation happens, because VEXA itself has no chat. See Why there’s no community chat.

Before you start

You need a Discord account. Create one at discord.com first if you do not have one.

Connecting asks Discord for two things: who you are, and permission to add you to the VEXA server. It does not ask for your Discord email. Your identity comes from the VEXA account you are signed in to, so the email VEXA holds is the one you verified with VEXA and never one supplied by Discord.

Steps

  1. Open Profile using View Profile in the sidebar footer.
  2. Scroll to the Discord Community card.
  3. Choose Connect.
  4. Authorise the connection in the Discord window that opens.

What you should see

The card changes state. Instead of “Not connected” it reads “Connected as @yourhandle” with a green Member chip beside it, and three controls appear: Open Discord, Reconnect and Disconnect.

On the web a banner confirms the connection succeeded. Open the server and you are already in it, with your roles applied. See Discord roles and support tickets.

The Discord promo card on Home disappears for good once you connect.

Reconnecting with a different Discord account

Reconnect lets you authorise a different Discord account. Before it runs, a confirmation warns you that the account currently linked will be removed from the VEXA server and replaced by the new one.

That removal is the point of the control, so read the confirmation rather than clicking through it. On the web this is a plain browser dialog rather than a styled VEXA one, which is expected.

Disconnecting

Disconnect asks: “Disconnect Discord? You’ll be removed from the VEXA server. You can reconnect anytime.”

Confirming removes you from the server. Your VEXA account is unaffected, and reconnecting later puts you back with the right roles.

One exception: if you own the server or hold a role above the VEXA bot, the bot cannot remove you. In that case it strips the roles it manages and you stay in the server as an ordinary member.

If it doesn’t work

  • “Could not start the Discord connection. Please try again.” The link could not be opened. Retry, and if you are on the web, allow the popup Discord opens in.
  • You authorised but the card still says not connected. The card reads your account rather than Discord. Refresh the profile screen.
  • You are in the server but have no roles. Roles come from your VEXA plan, and a free or Full Access account gets the base role only. See Discord roles and support tickets.
  • A browser popup appeared that looks unstyled. Reconnect and disconnect use plain browser dialogs on the web. They are genuine.
  • You disconnected but are still in the server. You hold a role the bot cannot act on. Leave the server from Discord itself.
