What VEXA stores and for how long
A category-by-category table of what VEXA keeps about you, what is purged automatically, and what only goes when you delete your account.
What this does
This is the answer to “what do you actually keep about me”. Most of it is kept for as long as your account exists, because it is the record you came here to build. Two things purge on a timer regardless of what you do.
Before you start
- Anything marked “until you delete your account” is removed by Delete your VEXA account.
- Anything you want a copy of first should be pulled with Export your VEXA data, which does not cover every row in this table.
The retention table
| What | How long it is kept |
|---|---|
| Account profile, preferences and settings | Until you delete your account |
| Trades, positions and journal entries | Until you delete your account |
| Scores, insights, patterns and weekly overviews | Until you delete your account |
| Chat conversations and messages | Until you delete your account. A conversation holds up to 50 messages and a new one starts each calendar day |
| Voice session audio | Not kept. It is streamed while you talk and not retained after the session ends |
| Voice session transcripts | Full text for your 50 most recent sessions. Older sessions keep their summary, topics and action items, and the transcript text is cleared |
| Voice summaries, topics and action items | Until you delete your account |
| Facts the coach has learned about you | Until you delete your account. Confidence in a fact decays if nothing reinforces it |
| Raw heart-rate readings | Purged on a 365-day ceiling. A job runs daily and deletes any raw reading older than that |
| Sentinel sessions, rules, interventions and baseline | Until you delete your account |
| Health metrics imported from your phone | Until you delete your account |
| Uploaded broker files | 30 days. A job runs daily and deletes the uploaded file itself. The trades parsed out of it stay |
| Broker credentials | Until you remove the connection. Encrypted at rest, and never included in a data export |
| Cookie and analytics consent record | Until you delete your account |
| Bug reports you submitted | Removed when you delete your account |
The two automatic purges
Raw heart-rate readings. Sentinel samples your heart rate roughly every two seconds while a session runs, which is a large number of tiny records. VEXA’s published retention period for them is 365 days, and a scheduled job enforces it every night. Newer readings may be removed sooner than that, so treat 365 days as the outer limit rather than a promise that a reading survives a year. What persists either way is the session itself, your baseline and the daily aggregates.
Uploaded broker files. When you upload a CSV or a statement, the file lands in storage, gets parsed, and is deleted 30 days later. Your imported trades are unaffected. If you want the original file again after that, export it from your broker again.
What is never stored
- Voice audio. It is processed as it streams and is not retained.
- Your broker login. VEXA holds API keys and tokens, never a password to your brokerage.
- Anything sent to VEXA’s AI service is not used to train general-purpose AI models. See How VEXA uses AI with your data.
Your rights over this data
The Privacy Policy sets out your rights to access, correct, delete and port your data, plus the additional rights that apply under GDPR if you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, and under CCPA and CPRA if you are in California. What you should see
Your export file, opened in a text editor, matches the rows in this table that it covers. Voice sessions older than your 50 most recent will show a summary with an empty transcript field. That is the retention rule working.
If it doesn’t work
- A voice transcript you wanted has gone. Only the 50 most recent are kept in full. The summary, topics and action items remain.
- A heart-rate chart from months ago is empty. Raw readings age out. Session-level history stays.
