Cookies and analytics
What the cookie banner controls, what choosing Essential Only actually switches off, and why the mobile apps never show one.
What this does
The banner at the bottom of the screen on your first visit decides whether VEXA loads analytics. There are two buttons, Essential Only and Accept All. Both dismiss the banner and both let you carry on using the site.
This is separate from AI consent. Declining analytics does not affect AI features, and granting AI consent does not turn analytics on. See How VEXA uses AI with your data for the other one.
Before you start
- Cookie consent is stored in your browser, so it is per-browser and per-device. A new browser asks again.
- Signing out does not wipe your choice. It survives so you are not asked repeatedly.
- The mobile apps have no cookie banner because they ship no analytics or tracking SDKs. There is nothing to consent to.
What each choice does
Accept All allows analytics in addition to the essentials.
Essential Only blocks the analytics scripts from initialising at all. They are not loaded and then muted, they are never loaded. Specifically:
- The web app does not start its error monitoring.
- The marketing site does not start Google Analytics.
Essential functionality is not optional either way. That covers signing in, keeping you signed in, and remembering your consent choice.
Steps
Web only
- Look for the banner at the bottom of the page on your first visit.
- Choose Accept All to allow analytics, or Essential Only to decline them.
- To change your mind later, clear this site’s data in your browser settings and reload. The banner returns.
What you should see
The banner disappears and does not come back in that browser. If you chose Essential Only, your browser’s network panel shows no request to Google Analytics on the marketing site and no error-monitoring script on the web app.
What is recorded either way
Every accept and decline writes an audit row against your account so VEXA can show when consent was given or withdrawn. If that write fails the banner still closes, because a logging problem should never block you from using the site.
If it doesn’t work
- The banner keeps reappearing. Your browser is clearing site data between visits, often because of private browsing or an aggressive privacy extension. The consent record has nowhere to live.
- You want to change your answer. There is no settings toggle for this yet. Clear the site’s stored data and the banner returns with both options.
