Sign in at open.tigerbrokers.com, open the Console, go to App Management and create an app. Tiger reviews the application before issuing your App Key, which takes a day or two.

Generate an RSA key pair with Tiger's tool, upload the public key to Tiger and keep the private key. It has to be PKCS#1, the format whose first line reads BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY.

In VEXA, enter your Tiger ID, which is the numeric account ID, your App Key, and the whole multi-line private key. Then choose your trading region, because the region decides which markets sync.

Save the connection and VEXA pulls once a day, reaching three years of history. For anything older, export a file from the Tiger Trade app and upload it.

Contact usNine times out of ten it is the format. Tiger's tools can hand you either kind and VEXA needs PKCS#1, so the first line has to read BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY. If it reads BEGIN PRIVATE KEY instead, that is PKCS#8 and it needs converting first. The other common cause is pasting the key as a single line: paste it whole, with the header and footer lines and the line breaks intact.
Once a day, at 60 requests a minute, reaching three years of history. Anything older comes from a file.
It decides which markets sync, so it is not cosmetic. Set it to US, Hong Kong, Singapore or Australia to match where you actually trade. Pick the wrong one and trades from your real markets never arrive.
No, they are two separate credentials. Tiger issues the App Key once it approves your application, and the private key is the one you generated and kept. VEXA needs both, plus your Tiger ID.
